Modes

  • Metro — Warsaw (2 lines). No other Polish city has metro yet.
  • Trams — Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Łódź, Katowice, Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Szczecin, Gorzów.
  • Buses — everywhere; the backbone in cities without trams.
  • Fast tram (PST) — Poznań, Kraków (Fast Tram).

Tickets

  • Single — 3.40–4.60 PLN for 45–90 min depending on city.
  • Time-based (75/90 min) let you transfer freely within the window.
  • Daily / weekly / monthly — monthly passes ~70–140 PLN.
  • Contactless card readers on validators accept Visa/Mastercard/Apple Pay/Google Pay in many cities.

Apps

  • Jakdojade — routes, live arrivals, tickets in supported cities.
  • mPay — Warsaw mobile ticketing.
  • City apps — Warsaw "moBilet", Kraków "SkyCash".

Zones

Most cities have a city zone (cheaper) and an agglomeration zone (suburbs, pricier). Confirm your destination's zone before buying.

Discounts

  • Students (under 26 with valid ID): 50% off in most cities.
  • Seniors (70+ in Warsaw): free; other cities vary.
  • Family tickets and group discounts exist.

FAQ

Do I need to validate a paper ticket?
If you buy a paper ticket, validate it in the machine on board. With a city app or contactless card payment, validation is automatic at the validator.
