Logging in
Most portals accept login via:
- Profil Zaufany — free, set up via your bank or in person.
- Qualified electronic signature — paid, for legally binding signing.
- eDowód — the digital ID card, for Polish citizens primarily.
Foreigners usually start with a Profil Zaufany once they have a PESEL.
Forms and language
Forms are in Polish. ePUAP lets you attach scans of documents to a case. Many offices accept English certificates with a sworn translation (tłumacz przysięgły).
Tips
- Bookmark gov.pl and the office for your region; provincial offices (urząd wojewódzki) handle residence permits.
- Keep PDF copies of every stamped form and receipt.
FAQ
- What is a Profil Zaufany and do I need one?
- Profil Zaufany (Trusted Profile) is a free way to log in to government services online, set up via your bank or in person at an office. Many foreigners set one up after receiving a PESEL.
- Do these portals work in English?
- Some key pages on gov.pl have English versions, but most forms are in Polish. Use a browser translator or ask a Polish speaker to help with forms.
